In tandem with an initiative of the national church, our Creation Care Ministry was initiated in late 2021 to encourage us, corporately and individually, to become better stewards of God’s created world. The Go Green Committee was formed to promote awareness and to provide information about the ways in which we can protect “our fragile island home.” The goal is to help us focus on the care of God’s creation by changing habits and choices in order to live more simply, humbly, and gently on the Earth.

 

The St. Andrew's Go Green ministry has brought our church more eco-friendly light bulbs, instituted a washable dishes only policy for church events and receptions, started and maintained a compost bin, provided vegetarian themed receptions, and coordinated Season of Creation and Earth Day activities.
